Crash Royal is a real-time strategy game that mixes different types of games together, including collectible card games, online multiplayer, and tower defense. It was released in March of 2016 and has quickly become one of the top games around the world. The game puts 2 teams against each other and the goal is to destroy the opposing teams towers. If the King's Tower is destroyed, then the opposing team wins. After 3 minutes, if the teams have the same amount of crowns, the game goes into a 2 minute overtime period. During overtime, the team that destroys the other tower first wins. If none of the towers are destroyed, it goes into a tiebreaker round where the health of the towers steadily decreases and the tower with the lowest health is usually the 1st destroyed. The team that destroyed the tower wins.
In addition to having access to trading tokens, you can also join groups of other players called clans. You can start joining clans at level 1 and it gives you the opportunity to trade cards with your comrades. If you're part of a clan, you can enter what's called a clan war. These are spaced over 2 days and have 2 different phases, which are the Collection Day phase and the War Day phase. During the Collection Day phase, each clan will get to do 3 matches in several different game modes. After finishing a match, players will receive cards that go into their deck. The higher areans will give more cards that the player can put into their deck. In order for the clan war to progress, a minimum of 10 players from the clan need to do 1 battle each. On War Day, clans are matched together in groups of 4 and each clan in the group has similar trophies and number of members. Each player will create their deck using the cards the clan collected from Collection Day. After the battle, each clan is ranked from best to worst, with 1st being the best clan and 5th being the worst.
After loading the game and selecting the mode you want to play, you'll be taken to the card selection screen. You'll select 8 cards and that's what you'll use during the game. At the start of the game, each player will be given 4 random cards out of the cards they selected at the beginning. There are some cards you can't get and each card will cost a certain amount of elixir to play. Once players on both teams have all of their cards picked, the match will begin.
Regardless of which mode you play, each player or team will have a certain number of towers to destroy. They'll play their cards to try and defend their towers and destroy the other team's. If any either team loses the tower in the very back, also known as the King Tower, the team automatically loses the game. At the end of the time limit, the team with the most towers left wins. If neither team's King Tower is destroyed, then the team with the most towers still remaining wins. If both teams have the same amount, the match will go into overtime. To destroy the towers, you'll need to place your cards facedown in the various lanes and try to deal damage to whatever is in the way. As you're playing your cards and trying to destroy the opposing team's towers, you'll need to watch your elixir level and try to stretch it throughout the match.
When you consider everything about Clash Royale, you'll see that it's a pretty fun game. You get to fight your way through arenas to try and be the best. The graphics are great and there are some fantastic cards that could make you almost unstoppable. You can also get awesome chests and fight next to your comrades in a clan. The biggest issues are the hacking and spotty connections, but many people love the game so much that they don't mind too much. It's a great game and many find that they get easily addicted to playing!
